Community

Levi believes in the strength and power of Community, whether through sports, academics, faith, volunteering or public safety. Levi’s commitment and love for his community emerged early on within his life. At a young age, Levi wanted to help others and longed for a career in public service. Anything with lights and sirens attracted Levi. His mother tells stories how Levi would run to the curb when he heard emergency vehicles racing by. According to his wife, he still does this today!

In 2003, while still in high school, Levi was mentored by then Dayton Fire Chief Eric Lofgren. Levi joined the Dayton Volunteer Rescue Unit at age 17 and enrolled in the EMT-Basic class at Sheridan College. Levi completed the class, but had to wait until he turned 18 to take the National Registry EMT-Basic exam. This was the beginning of Levi’s career in public safety.

Levi served as one of Dayton, Wyoming’s first junior town councilors where his interest in local government has continued since. He was later elected as a Sheridan City Councilor in 2012. While serving as a Sheridan City Councilor, Levi served on various boards including the Sheridan Juvenile Justice Board.

While Levi enjoyed playing and competing in a variety of sports, baseball was his passion. Levi played baseball throughout his school years and American Legion Baseball. During the summers, while home from college, Levi coached Tongue River’s little league baseball teams for the Sheridan Recreation District. Levi continues to coach little league baseball coaching his boys and their friends. He understands how important it is to invest in our youth so they can have a positive childhood where they can learn, grow, and become better humans.

Many people mentored Levi at a young age, including the Dayton Community Church Family. He was a regular in church, playing bass guitar in the church’s worship band and never missed Youth Group on Sunday evenings. After returning home from college, Levi regularly led Sunday Youth Group until he moved into Sheridan.

Levi currently serves as the President for Sheridan Youth Baseball and is a member of the Big Horn Lions Club.
